Charleston Sculptor Scott Penegar will appear at Niche Interiors for the SEWE King Street Stroll Friday, February 20 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Niche, at 163 King, is Domicile's newest lease transaction on King Street.
Penegar's art is heavily influenced by his passion for the sea. Scott has made two transatlantic crossings on a 34-foot sailboat, traveling from Maine to France and back via the Canary Islands and the Caribbean. During his travels, Scott spent much time visiting the works of the master painters and sculptors that have influenced his style.
Scott returned to Charleston in 1995 to begin working on the sculptures and paintings that he and his wife now create at Penegar Studios. Scott sculpted the awards for the 1997 Cooper River Bridge Run, was chosen to show in the Artistic Expressions art exhibition at the South Carolina Aquarium in 2005, and won 2nd place in Fine Arts at The Riverhurst Arts Festival in 2007.
Also at Niche Interiors, tents, lights and a wonderful courtyard party as Matthew Bees invites Buck-N-Rut Tree Stands inventor Les Bees, also known as Matthew's dad, to the party and bourbon tasting.
